Fashion: Met Gala 2014 Best Dressed

I think that the MET Gala is one of my favourite fashion events and I am sure I'm not the only one who thinks that. Each year a theme is implemented and stars go all out in the glamour stakes to rock the most outrageously fabulous outfit. This year was no different as the theme of 'Ballgowns' was thrown into the mix with Charles James: Beyond Fashion being celebrated.
There were a few people who I thought looked great (Cara Delevigne, Sarah Paulson, Mario Cotillard) but for me they didn't embrace the theme so I decided not to put them on the list.
For such a glamorous event I have picked a top 16:

  • Georgia Jagger wore a black Thierry Mugler gown with a deep V and white lining, love the Sergio Rossi shoes too and the golden waves
  • Kendall Jenner wore a Topshop bandeau dress, yep Topshop! I didn't know they made such clothing. Bouffant hair, Chopard jewels and golden make up complete the look
  • Kate Bosworth was delightful in a slinky rose pink Stella McCartney dress that showed off her tiny frame
  • Reese Witherspoon also wore a pink Stella McCartney dress but hers was more of a glorious fuchsia shade and had a distinctly old Hollywood feel to it
  • Ivanka Trump wore a lavish green gown by Oscar De La Renta, I love the comparison of the olive green/lime green dress paired with her golden bun and deep red lips
  • Blake Lively wore Gucci, of course, and if there is something Blake does well that is ork a red carpet. I adore everything about this ensemble and the train on that Gucci gown is divine
  • Zooey Deschanel was glorious in a midnight blue Tommy Hilfiger dress. The colour looks stunning against her porcelain skin tone and make her baby blue pop. The neckline, shape and colour all work wonderfully in her favour.
  • Emma Stone wore a Thakoon to piece compries of a baby pink crop and hot pink maxi, she paired the stunning outfit with metallic Miu Miu sandals and a side-swept messy braid
  • Kim Kardashian wore a deep blue Lanvin dress with a thigh split and thick black betl, she partnered with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and her trademark long lashes
  • Diane Kruger never disappoints when it comes to fashion. Although she has a style I could never work, she is constantly chic and classically stylish but still manages to add some edge to her look and this Jason Wu for Hugo Boss pale lavender dress is simply divine.
  • Jessica Pare wore a busy Michael Kors strapless dress that I loved, once again it isn't a design I would pick but it works beautifully on the actress. Paired with that pink lip and dark up do she looked beautiful.
  • Bee Shaffer had a true princess moment in this ice blue Alexander McQueen gown, I love how she added a modern twist with the embellished knuckle duster clutch but kept it classic with the chignon

  • I haven't seen Rachel McAdams on the red carpet much recently but the actress looked lovely in a smile blush coloured Calvin Klein number but of me wished for some diamonds but she looks pretty nonetheless
  • The young fashionista, Hailee Steinfeld wore a monochrome gown by possibly her favourite designer Prabal Gurung she paired it with dark eyes and Charlotte Olympia platforms.
  • Toni Garn was another in Topshop (simply have to check out these gowns!) she wore a powder blue dress, not that dissimilar to Bee Shaffer's, shows that the colour works on porcelain brunettes and sunkissed blondes
  • Anne Hathaway was red hot in Calvin Klein, it seems to be a mixture of Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams dresses. Styled to perfection with drop earrings and a black box clutch

Fashion: April 2014 Best Dressed

Here we have April best dressed and I have noticed that I haven't updated this blog for an ENTIRE MONTH, I need to give it some TLC!

  • I love Katy's style as a whole and although I am a little hesitant about the hair here the Roland Mouret dress is to die for, that turquoise shade is stunning and I always have time for bodycon
  • The Queen of bling rocked a gorgeous pink Kohls number as she starred on American Idol. I love nude pumps and this pair with the snakeskin platform are stunning.
  • I nearly did a mini post for the ACM Awards but not enough people jumped out at me. Taylor was one of the few, I love her hair here and the J Mendel creation is divine on her tall, toned physique
  • I wonder if there will ever be a month Kiernan Shipka doesn't make it to my BD list?! Once again the young actress caught my attention in a pastel patterned Preen number with matching pointed heels
  • Cassadee Pope was another who I thought looked fabulous at the ACM Awards. She wore a rust coloured Maria Lucia Lohan gown with tumbling waves and simple jewelery. I love that she has her tattoos on show and proves how beautiful they can be
  • Brooklyn Decker wore a sunshine yellow lace mini by Valentino paired with simple sandals, I love this dress and Brooklyn shows that blondes can wear yellow! And she looks stunning with it.
  • Jennifer Lawrence was on GMA recently and wore a crisp white and nude ChloeĆ© & Philip Lim outfit with a pair of Jimmy Choos. I love the shape of the dress on her and the studded jacket gives her ensemble some edge
  • Nicki Minaj seems to have given herself a complete makeover and is working a much more muted look, she stunned everybody at the MTV Awards in a black Alexander McQueen dress with some gold bling and side swept hair
  • Kaley Cucuo wore a simple but super cute short combo to Authors Anonymous LA screening. I love the prettiness of the cream top and patterned shorts with a dash of coral nail polish to mix it up.
  • Felicity Jones attended the Amazing Spiderman 2 premiere in New York where she wore a pretty pale lemon Miu Miu dress with some to die for embellishment. She paired with white Jimmy Choos for a fresh, summery look
  • Sarah Jessica Parker was at the AOL NewFronts event and wore a delightful Alexander McQueen dress paired with metallic azure heels from her own collection, the dress is perfect for Spring but its the highlighted hair and peep toes that truly make me adore this outfit
  • As always Holland Roden totally rocked the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. She wore a grey nude Salvatore Ferragamo dress and hot pink Brian Atwood heels. I was a little weary of the dress but the styling and Hollands beauty make it work
My best dressed for April goes to Nicki Minaj. I'm not such a fan of her music but here she totally blew me away, from the fitted black dress to the bold gold accessories swide swept high-lighted hair.

Fashion: Katy Perry Prism World Tour Wardrobe

American pop singer Katy Perry kicks off her Prismatic World Tour tomorrow (in Ireland in case you wondered) and a few sketches have been released that showcase what will be her stunning costumes. In fact Katy has been releasing the images via her Instagram over the past 10 days as a build up to her exciting tour.
The bubblegum beauty has some of the worlds top designers creating spectacular pieces for her including the king of glamour and glitz Roberto Cavalli, the bold and beautiful Fausto Puglisi and the odd garment from the weird and wonderful fashion brand The Blonds. Moschino, Todd Thomas, Discount Universe, Nicolas Jebran and Valentino have also come up with enchantingly fabulous outfits for the superstar and it is fair to say that the drawings will excite and enthrall all of those who are either lucky enough to see KatyCat on tour.
It must be wonderful to create outfits for such a star because Katy is known for taking some serious fashion risks and is a big fan of quirky, kooky pieces as much as she is a fan of lavish, glamour ensembles. From the over the top, brightly coloured catsuit from Discount Universe to the butterfly inspired petal gown by Valentino Katy Perry's latest tour is full of colour, chaos and some serious fashion.

I can only presume that Roberto Cavalli is the main designer for her wonderful world tour and I am sure that everybody will be fine with that as Katy has worn many outfits by the designer before and she always look sensational.
I found the below image on the RCFA website and it only onyl excited me further so much sparkle and so much edge, I cannot wait to see these outfits in action!
